Day One Recap: Luther sits in third place of the ten-team field after the first day of competition at the Grinnell Invitational. The Norse posted a point total of 273 and trail Gustavus Adolphus with 617 and University of Nebraska-Omaha with 563.
Individually, Erin Mykleby posted two medal performances. Mykleby finished second in the 500 freestyle (5:15.18) and third in the 100 freestyle (54.54).
Stephanie Drewes finished second in the 200 breaststroke (2:28.06) by .04 seconds. Lexi Bergeron of UNO won the event clocked at (2:28.02).
Mykleby, Drewes, Amelia Ladd and Katie Storey placed second in the 400 medley relay (4:08.02). Mykleby, Mary Kathryn Maher, Chrisann Zuerner and Elizabeth Reed finished third in the 800 freestyle relay (8:10.22).
Day Two Recap: The Norse posted six medal performances during the final day of competition. The Norse finished in third place overall with 545 points, and trailed Gustavus Adolphus with 1247.5 and University of Nebraska-Omaha with 980.5.
Stephanie Drewes captured gold in the 100 breaststroke with a winning time of (1:07.18). Erin Mykleby posted two medal performances finishing second in the 200 backstroke (2:12.44), and third in the 200 freestyle (1:59.30). Elizabeth Reed (18:39.44) and Mary Kathryn Maher (18:43.87) finished second and third respectively in the 1,650 freestyle.
The Norse started the day with a third place finish in the 200 medley relay. Mykleby, Drewes, Amelia Ladd and Margaret Yapp posted a time of (1:53.41).
Luther will wrap up its dual meet schedule one week from today when it will travel to Coe College. This meet will begin at 1:00 p.m.
