Luther returned to the win column in record setting fashion defeating Central 80-63 in Pella. The Norse set a single game school record shooting 62.2 percent. Leading 36-35 at halftime, the Norse connected on 15-of-22 in the second frame outscoring the Dutch 44-28. The old record was set during the 1993-94 season when Luther shot 61.8 percent (34-55) against Montclaire State.
Taylor Johnson posted her sixth double-double of the season, scoring 22 points and grabbing 10 rebounds, both game highs.
Katie Etter and Logan Hjerleid both put up career highs. Etter tallied 20 points and Hjerleid tossed in 15. Rachel Stenhaug also reached double digits with 10. Meagan Koepnick just missed double digits with nine.
Central was led by Sarah Paulson and Kelsey Schuring with 15 and 11 points respectively.
The win gives Luther an Iowa Conference record of 2-6, 5-12 overall. Central is now 0-8 in league play, 5-12 overall.
The Norse return home on Saturday, Jan. 21, when they will host Cornell College at 2:00 p.m. This game will be video streamed.
