Luther dropped a double header to Coe this afternoon in Cedar Rapids by scores of 5-7, 1-7. The two losses gives the Norse an Iowa Conference record of 13-10, 22-16 overall.
In game one, Coe College scored five runs on one hit in the bottom of the fifth inning, to take the lead for good. Sean Raisch capped off the frame with a grand slam home run. The Kohawks added a run in the sixth en route to the final outcome.
The Norse tallied 10 hits led by Chris Reynolds who was 3-for-3 with two RBI. Ryan Bahnemann was 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Chris Erikson, Kevin Bradley, Austen Graham, Andrew Nelson and Eric Pittman all had one hit.
In the nightcap, the Kohawks did all of their damage in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings. Coe scored three runs in both the fourth and sixth and scored once in the fifth.
Matt Larson drove in Luther's lone run in the first, driving in Reynolds who started the game with a walk.
Luther will wrap up the regular season Iowa Conference schedule on Monday, May 7 when it will travel to Wartburg College for 1 x 9 game that will begin at 6:00 p.m.
