It was a story of two halves this evening as Luther was defeated by UW-Platteville 76-68 in the Regents Center.
The Norse blistered the nets in the first half shooting 56 percent and led at halftime 42-29.
The second frame saw Platteville put together a 22-7 run in the first nine minutes, that tied the score at 51-51. After the teams traded buckets, the Pioneers outscored the Norse 15-8 in the final seven minutes en route to the victory.
The Norse won the battle of the boards 45-34, but turned the ball over 24 times, that led to 31 Platteville points.
Taylor Johnson recorded a double-double with 20 points and collected a game high 13 rebounds. Rachel Stenhaug tallied 16 points, while Meagan Koepnick chipped in 11.
Platteville was led by Liz Lawinger who poured in a game high 27. Ashley Henry, Claire Poad, and Rachel Cropp were all credited with 10.
The loss drops Luther's overall record to 1-2. Platteville snapped a two-game losing streak and is now 2-2.
The Norse return to action at St. Olaf College, Saturday, Nov. 26, at 2:00 p.m. This game will be video streamed.
