Mark Oppenheimer, author and journalist for the New York Times, Slate, Mother Jones, The Nation, The New Republic, and other venues, will give a free public lecture entitled, "The Pope Doesn't Speak for Me!: American Religion and the Crisis of Authority". Oppenheimer is the author of the books Wisenheimer: A Childhood Subject to Debate, Knocking on Heaven's Door: American Religion in the Age of Counterculture, and Thirteen and a Day: The Bar and Bat Mitzvah Across America and a professor of journalism at Yale University.
