Luther improved to 8-2 following a 63-59 victory over the University of Dallas at the Maher Athletic Center this afternoon.
Leading by as many as eight points in the first half, the Norse trailed the Knights 30-27 at intermission, but put together an 11-7 run in the first five minutes of the second frame and re-captured the lead. The Norse also stepped up the defensive effort in the final 20 minutes of play holding the Knights to 35 percent from the field.
The Norse outscored the Knights 36-16 in the paint and were led by the inside duo of Tyler Wedemeier and John Androus. Wedemeier posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Androus led the team with 15 points.
Luther will continue its trip to Texas with a game at Austin College tomorrow afternoon. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
