Wonderfully listenable with relentless purpose, Regina Carter strives to contribute to jazz in creative and meaningful ways, and that effort has led to a crescendo of success for her as a jazz violinist. Capturing critical acclaim, Reverse Thread is a celebration of the beauty and essence of African folk melodies infused with elements of American jazz. The kora, a West African harp traditionally played by village storytellers, joins her seductive violin, accordion, bass, and drums in this uplifting work.
