The Luther men’s tennis team finished off an 18-0 day on the courts with a 9-0 sweep against St. Ambrose. Fifteen Norse players saw action on the day as Luther moved its record to 18-5 overall this season.
Tyler Zinnecker and Quinn Foley made short work Mike Harts and Nick Goodknight at No. 2, cruising to an (8-0) victory. Nick Mozena and James Ayer were (8-4) winners at No. 1 doubles, defeating Santiago Gonzalez and Mike Harts. Tyler Van Heest and Sam Cychosz also earned an (8-4) win against Dave Smith and John Rohlf at No. 3.
Torstein Jystad stepped into the No. 3 slot in the singles lineup and was a (6-1, 6-0) winner over Wood. Bellio only dropped two games in a (6-1, 6-1) decision against Harts at No. 2 while Foley won (6-2, 6-1) in the No. 4 singles match with Goodknight. Mozena picked up his third victory of the year at No. 1, defeating Gonzalez (6-3, 6-2). Matt Knutson dropped his first set before rallying to win (4-6, 7-5, (10-5)) against Smith at No. 5 singles. Dan Warden completed the day with a (7-5, 7-6 (3)) win against Rohlf at No. 6.
