Luther fell to 1-4 in the Iowa Conference after dropping a twin bill at Loras this evening. The Duhawks defeated the Norse 6-1, 6-4 and improved to 3-5 in league play.
In game one, Loras scored all six of its runs in the bottom of the fifth, knocking out Norse starter Alec Knop. Luther scored its lone run in the top of the first when Matt Larson drove in Chris Reynolds. Larson had two of Luther's four hits against Loras pitcher Miles Canady, who was credited with the complete game victory.
Loras scored two unearned runs in the bottom of the first thanks to two Norse errors and then secured the victory with three runs in the fifth.
Chris Erikson drove in three of Luther's four runs going 3-for-4 at the plate. Reynolds also had a multiple hit performance going 2-for-3 and scoring once from his lead-off position.
Luther is now 8-11 and will host Buena Vista University this Friday and Saturday, April 6-7. Friday's nine inning game will begin at 3:00 p.m. Saturday's double header will begin at 1:00 p.m. All three games will be video streamed.
