Golf (Men) - Gustavus Twin Cities Classic

The men's golf team wrapped up its fall schedule with their annual trip to the three-day Gustavus Adolphus Twin Cities Classic held Oct. 8-10. The 19 teams played at the Links at Northfork, Elk River Country Club and Rush Creek Golf Club.

Luther shot a three round total of 930 and finished in ninth place. The Norse shot rounds of 311, 305 and 314.

Concordia-Moorhead won the the event with a 903. UW-Eau Claire was second at 904 and Gustavus Adolphus was third with a 910.

Individually, Matt Axelrod led the Norse, finishing in a six-way tie for 13th place carding a 228, seven strokes off the lead. Coy Papachek won the individual title with a 221.

The rest of Head Coach Scott Fjelstul's squad and how they finished included Aaron Smith (T25 - 230), Tobias Kohl (T35 - 234), Jack McLeod (54 - 239) and Joel Bruns (T82 - 254). A total of 95 golfers played in the tournament.
