Tied with Edgewood College at 306 after the first round of the Frank Wrigglesworth Blugold Invite hosted by UW-Eau Claire, Luther finished eight strokes behind Edgewood this afternoon and slipped to third place. The Norse shot 312 this afternoon for a two-day total of 618. Edgwood won the team title with a 610, followed by University of Manitoba at 612.
Aaron Smith tied for medalist honors carding a two-day total of 148. Smith shot an even par 71 on day one that proved to be the low round of the tournament. He posted a 77 this afternoon and finished tied with Brent Quade of Edgewood who shot rounds of 76-72.
Tobias Kohl also posted a top-10 finish. Kohl finished in a two-way tie for sixth place at 150. Matt Axelrod (160), Joel Bruns (166) and Jack McLeod (167) completed the Norse fivesome.
Luther will travel to Lake Geneva, Wis. for the MSOE Grand Geneva Invite Oct. 2-3.
