Luther raised its Iowa Conference record to 2-1 following a 3-0 victory over University of Dubuque (0-3) here in Decorah this evening. The win was the second in a row for the Norse who are now 6-6-0 overall.
Kate Manning scored what proved to be the game winner unassisted at 6:11 of the first half. Kendra Ledel gave the Norse a 2-0 advantage with her team best ninth goal of the season, assisted by Maggie Herrity and Sarah Czechowicz. Shelby Steele completed the night's scoring with her first collegiate goal assisted by Catherine Gehlsen.
Cydney Haaland turned away all six shots she faced en route to her second shutout of the year.
The Norse will return to action on Sunday, Oct. 9 when they will travel to Dubuque to play Clarke University. This non-conference match is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m.
