UW-Eau Claire did all of its damage in the first four minutes, as they handed Luther a 2-1 defeat here in Decorah. The Blugolds scored at 2:49 and 3:43.

Maggie Herrity pulled the Norse to within one, with her first goal of the season at 18:24, assisted by Dani Meirick.

Both teams had opportunities to score in the second half but could not find the back of the net. Statistically the shots were even at 11-11 and both keepers were credited with three saves. Eau Claire had five shots on goal and Luther tallied four.

The loss drops Luther's overall record to 3-5-0 and snapped a two-match win streak. Eau Claire improved to 5-2-1.

Luther returns to action Tuesday night when it will host UW-Platteville at 5:00 p.m.
