For the second time today, Luther won a hard fought five set match, to wrap up the UW-Stout Tournament with a record of 2-2. In the final match of the tournament for the Norse, they defeated the Scots of Macalester College 3-2, posting set scores of 21-25, 25-15, 25-19, 18-25 and 15-5. Luther's record in five set matches is now 5-1.
Hannah Walker and Kelsey Sorensen were credited with 16 and 13 kills respectively. Amanda Dietel dished out 37 assists and Lindsey Weaver was credited with a team best 14 digs. Hannah Wilson led the team with two block solos.
The victory was the second of the year over Macalester. On Sept. 9, the Norse defeated the Scots 3-0, at the St. Catherine University Tournament in St. Paul.
Walker was named to the eight-player all-tournament team.
Luther returns to action on Monday night when it will travel to Viterbo University. This non-conference match will begin in La Crosse, Wis. at 7:30 p.m.
