No. 25 Luther defeated University of Dubuque 80-70 tonight in the Regents Center to remain unbeaten in Iowa Conference play.
In a classic battle that saw 16 lead changes and 12 ties, the Norse put together a 14-4 run in the final four minutes to secure the victory. Both teams had four players tally double digits.
Luther was led by Carrie Kilen who produced a double-double with a career high 19 points and 13 rebounds, one shy of her career high. Kylie Romeo (15), Meagan Koepnick (12) and Moran Lonning (10) completed the list of double digit scorers. Anna Madrigal and Lauren Resner both chipped in nine. Resner produced career high for points and rebounds in 13 minutes of action off the bench.
Dubuque was led by Jenna Kotas and Brittany Collier who both recorded double-doubles. Kotas poured in a game high 20 points and grabbed 11 boards. Collier was credited with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Meggie Schmidt and Kayla Springer tallied 13 and 10 points respectively.
The win was Luther's tenth in a row and the gives the Norse an Iowa Conference record of 3-0, 13-1 overall. Dubuque had its three-game win streak come to an end and is 2-1 in league play, 8-6 overall.
The Norse will host Coe College (3-0, 10-4) on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. The Kohawks defeated Buena Vista University tonight 82-68.
