Wartburg College

Wartburg College proved why they are ranked No. 6 in the NCAA III as they defeated Luther 52-7 this afternoon in Walston-Hoover Stadium.

The Knights tallied 408 yards of total offense and led 45-0 before JJ Srios scored for the Norse on a six-yard run. Wartburg entered the game with the top-ranked defense in the league and held Luther to 193 yards all coming on the ground.

Josh Vos led the attack with 84 yards on 15 carries. Sirios was next with 54 yards on 23 attempts and Christian Moore tallied 45 yards on 13 carries. 

Wartburg quarterback Logan Schrader threw for 252 yards and two touchdowns, completing 15 of 21 attempts. 

Gabe Saemisch led the Norse defense with eight tackles. He was followed by Aric Elton with six and Ryan Cox with five. Sean Guerra was credited with a sack and Elton picked off a pass late in the game.

Luther fell to 1-3 in the IIAC, 4-3 overall. Wartburg remains unbeaten with a mark of 4-0 in league play, 7-0 overall. 

Luther's final home game of the season will be one week from today when it will host Coe College. The Kohawks were defeated by Central 45-21 this afternoon and are now 2-2 in the IIAC, 3-4 overall.
