Luther jumped out to a 36-15 halftime lead and never looked back rolling to a season opening 82-40 victory over Concordia-Chicago tonight in Mount Vernon.
Taylor Johnson recorded a double-double scoring 15 points and collecting a game high 10 rebounds. Rachel Stenhaug led all scorers with 16 points. Stenhaug was 4-of-7 from behind the three-point line. Mackenzie Pierson and Mullen Wacker just missed double digits with nine points each. Megan Koepnick, who tallied eight points, dished out a game high six assists.
Defensively, the Norse held Concordia to 29 percent shooting and also held a 43-36 advantage on the boards.
The Norse will return to action tomorrow afternoon at the Cornell College Tournament, when they will face Bethany Lutheran at 4:00 p.m. This game will be video streamed.
