Luther started its second day at the National Training Center in Clermont, Fla., with a 4-1 victory over the College of St. Ben's.
Becca Girvan picked up where she left off on day one. After striking out 11 batters in the Carroll win, she proceeded to strike out 12 St. Ben's batters en route to her fourth victory of the season. Girvan faced 28 batters and allowed one run on four hits and walked two.
Katie Wieland drove in what proved to be the game winning runs with a two-run double to right center field in the top of the third. Carli Radil drove in the first run of the ball game with a single in the first, while Morgan Franklin drove in the final run of the game in the fifth. Both Wieland and Radil were 2-for-4 at the plate.
