Wartburg improved to 8-2 on its home floor as it defeated Luther 61-54 at Levick Arena.
With the game tied 38-38 midway through the second half, the Knights took control thanks to a 17-7 run during the next eight minutes of play. The Knights shot 67 percent in the second half en route to 49 percent for the evening.Wartburg's bench also outscored Luther's bench 26-9.
Logan Hjerleid led the Norse attack with a season high 13 points. Taylor Johnson was next with 11 and just missed a double-double collecting a game high nine rebounds. Meagan Koepnick and Lyndsi Woolems both added eight points, while Tayler Jenks chipped in seven.
Carly Jacobs and Bobbi Burrows led the Knights with 13 points each. Baileigh O'Brien was next with 12.
The loss gives Luther an Iowa Conference record of 2-5, 10-8 overall. Wartburg improves to 5-2, 12-6.
The Norse will return action on Saturday when they will host University of Dubuque. Start time is slated for 5:00 p.m.
