Luther remained undefeated in Iowa Conference action defeating Simpson College 59-53 here in the Regents Center. The Norse never trailed in this game. The Storm tied the game at 47-47 with a little over five minutes remaining, but the Norse responded with a 10-0 run that secured the victory.
Tyler Wedemeier had another big night leading all scorers with 22 points. He was also credited with seven rebounds and five blocked shots, one shy of his single game career high. Michael Crocker, who made three of Luther's four three-point baskets tallied 12 points.
Simpson was led by the trio of Charles Swain with 11 and Austin Hennings and Elijah Knox who both chipped in 10.
The win was the ninth in a row over the Storm. The Norse are now 2-0 in the IIAC, 9-4 overall. Simpson fell to 0-2 in league play, 4-9 overall.
Luther travels to Central College this Saturday, Jan. 12. This game will be audio streamed and will begin at 4:00 p.m.
