With a focus on student-centered learning, information literacy provides a way to consider and enhance integration of critical thinking and technology proficiency into our courses. The three workshop tracks offer faculty an opportunity to select a level of depth while breadth is gained through an overview of information literacy and its relationship to critical thinking, research, and departmental curricula. The tracks also give the facilitators flexibility to tailor the experience to faculty needs. During the workshop, participants will consider course-specific information literacy principles in the context of departmental/program goals for students (at the beginning, intermediate or advanced levels), and teaching goals in relation to use of technology (multimedia, social media, new media literacies, hardware, software, etc.). Faculty who select Track 2 or Track 3 will be provided with technology equipment to assist in developing new approaches to pedagogy.
