Luther posted its second match of the day by an 8-1 margin, defeating Hope at the DeWitt Tennis Center in Holland, Mich. The Norse played terrific doubles, winning at all three spots and then scoring victories at five of the six singles positions to finish off the victory.
Torstein Jystad and Isaiah Mayerchak were (8-2) winners over Jonathan Panzer and Sam Kreps at No. 3 while James Ayer and Kyle Appel polished off an (8-3) win against Cody Herbruck and Trevor Brogan at No. 2. Leading 2-0, the Norse completed the sweep when Ramesh Karki and Quinn Foley edged out Parker Bussies and Colin McKey by an (8-6) margin at No. 1.
Sam Cychosz brought the Norse one point closer to the team victory with a (6-2, 6-1) decision over Kreps at No. 6 singles. Matt Bellio clinched the win with a (6-3, 6-0) win at No. 3, winning the final 10 games to defeat McKey. Foley was a double winner in the match with his (6-2, 6-1) win against Panzer at No. 5. Jystad joined him with a (6-2, 6-3) win over Bussies at No. 2. Hope tallied its only point of the match when Brogan edged Mayerchak (6-3, 3-6, (10-4)) at No. 4. Karki completed the scoring with a (6-2, 6-3) win against Herbruck at No. 1.
The Norse improved to 7-2 overall this season.
