Day Three Recap: Saturday Complete Results
Jason Orvis, Eric Hild and the 400 freestyle relay posted medal performances in today's final day of competition of the Liberal Arts Championships. The Norse finished second (665) behind Illinois Tech (702). McMurray University was third (405), followed by Franklin College (404).
Orvis won gold in the 200 backstroke (1:55.75) with a time that ranks fourth on Luther's all-time list. Hild placed second in the 200 butterfly (2:01.47). Zack Kuntz, Tim Cutler, Sam Weinberg and Orvis placed third in the 400 freestyle relay (3:10.93).
Day Two Recap: Friday Complete Results
Luther slipped to second place after day two of the Liberal Arts Championships. The Norse (463) trail Illinois Tech (470) by seven points entering Saturday's finals. Franklin College is a distant third at 281.
Jason Orvis posted the lone gold medal performance of the day. Orvis touched the wall first in the 100 backstroke (52.73) recording the third fastest time in school history.
Silver medals were won by Weinberg in the 200 freestyle (1:44.91) and Cutler in the 100 breaststroke (59.50), and Hild collected bronze in the 100 fly (53.28). Weinberg's time ranks fourth all-time.
The 200 medley relay team of Jon Hagen, Cutler, Kristian Anderson and Kuntz placed second (1:37.86).
Weinberg, Hild, David Carius and Orvis wrapped up the day's competition with a third place finish in the 800 freestyle relay (7:04.79).

After the first full day of competition at the Liberal Arts Championships, Luther sits atop the team standings with 213 points. Illinois Tech is second with 196, followed by Franklin College with 130.
The Norse 200 freestyle relay of Zack Kuntz, Tim Cutler, Ryley Kramka and Jason Orvis got things started with a gold medal performance with a time of 1:26.02.
The Luther foursome of Orvis, Cutler, Eric Hild and Kuntz wrapped up the day with a second place finish in the 400 medley relay (3:30.94). Illinois Tech edged the Norse with a time of 3:30.26.
Individual second place finishes were recorded by Sam Weinberg in the 500 freestyle (4:48.95), Cutler in the 200 IM (1:59.43), and Kuntz in the 50 freestyle (:21.54). Third place finishes were produced by Hild in the 500 freestyle (4:49.43) and Orvis in the 50 freestyle (:21.62).
