Jon Gednalske scored an unassisted goal in the 83rd minute that proved to be the game winner, as Luther defeated Coe 1-0 this afternoon in Cedar Rapids. Gednalske's goal was his fifth of the year.
Tommy Breen posted his first collegiate shut out stopping five shots on goal.
Luther dominated this match out shooting Coe 30-9 that included 19 in the second half. The Norse also had an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Luther took a huge step towards making the six-team Iowa Conference Tournament with this afternoon's victory. The Norse are now 3-3 in league play, 9-5-2 overall. Coe fell to 2-4 in the IIAC, 5-11-1 overall.
Luther will wrap up the IIAC regular season schedule on Tuesday, Oct. 23 when it will host Wartburg College at 7:00 p.m. This match will be video streamed.
