Luther captured the 2015 Iowa Conference championship with a clean slate sweeping University of Dubuque 7-1 and 8-0 (6) this afternoon in Decorah. The Norse finished the regular season schedule with a mark of 12-0 and will be the No. 1 seed for the Iowa Conference six-team tournament. The single elimination tournament will be played in Decorah May 1-2.
In game one, Luther did all of its damage in the second frame. The Norse scored seven runs on three hits. Luther loaded the bases with consecutive walks by Ashley Burrows and Kristen Winter, followed by a hit-by-pitch by Anna Strein.
