Distinguished Lecture: Marjane Satrapi

  • Date: Saturday, October 25, 2014
  • Time: 7:00 pm
  • Location: Center for Faith and Life, Main Hall

In her internationally acclaimed graphic novel Persepolis, Iran native Marjane Satrapi gathers her stories of living through the Islamic Revolution and the war with Iraq—of dethroned emperors, suicidal uncles, state-sanctioned whippings, and heroes of the revolution—during a childhood at once outrageous and ordinary, beset by the unthinkable but buffered by an extraordinary family. The best-selling author, whose work has been translated into more than 40 languages, hosts "Graphic Freedom," an evening on onstage conversation.
