Six pool records were established during today's second annual Luther Sprint Invitational. No team scores were kept for this event.
UW-La Crosse set new marks in the 200 medley relay (1:40.38) and 200 freestyle relay (1:29.33).
Individually, McGilvary of UWL set a new pool record in the 50 fly (24.15), while Justin Bublitz of UWL shattered both pool records for one meter diving (11 dives) 564.50 and three-meter diving (11 dives) 577.55.
Luther's David Carius established a new mark in the 200 freestyle with a winning time of 1:48.40. Carius also won the 500 freestyle (4:58.72) and was third in the 100 IM (57.55).
Branch Johnson (26.35) and Andrew Reitz (27.16) went one and two in the 50 backstroke, while Justin Yuan placed second in both the 100 breaststroke (1:03.38) and 100 IM (57.49). Spencer Yound placed second in the 1000 freestyle (11:06.27). Adam Larkin place second in both one-meter (275.40) and three-meter (278.00) diving.
Luther will return to action on Jan. 16-17 when it will compete at the Grinnell Invitational.
