Luther fell into a tie for first place with Buena Vista University after dropping a 63-50 decision to Loras College. Dubuque has not been kind to the Norse as they have made two trips to the river city and returned home with two losses.
The Norse had a difficult night shooting connecting on 36 percent (21-58) that included a 6-for-20 effort from behind the three-point line. The Norse were also outrebounded by the Duhawks by 11.
Tyler Wedemeier led the Norse with 14 points. Nathan Meyer and Brian Nnaoji combined for 19 points off the bench. Meyer, who made three of Luther's six treys, tallied 11 points, while Nnaoji chipped in eight.
The Duhawks, who shot 48.9 percent, had nine different players score led by Josh Bruns who tallied 11 points off the bench.
The loss gives Luther an Iowa Conference record of 7-2, 14-6 overall. Loras is now 2-7, 7-13.
Luther will travel to Simpson College on Saturday for a game that will begin at 4:00 p.m.
