Luther placed sixth at the two-day Rochester Invitational hosted by St. Cloud State University.
Clare Slagel was crowned the champion of both the 100 backstroke and 200 backstroke establishing new school records in the process. Slagel won the 100 backstroke with a time of 55.70, breaking her own record of 57.61 set on Nov. 10. Emily Green of Minnesota State-Mankato was second clocked at 57.90.
In the 200 backstroke, Slagel crushed her previous record in this event by nearly five seconds. Slagel touched the wall in 2:01.38 finishing nearly four seconds ahead of runner-up Paige Stavely of University of South Dakota. Slagel's old mark in this event was 2:06.70 also set on Nov. 10. Both of Slagel's times in the 100 and 200 backstroke currently rank fifth in the NCAA III.
Slagel also placed third in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:10.59 that ranks second on Luther's all-time list.
Lexi Scharmer, who advanced to the B-final of the 100 butterfly, posted the third best time in Luther history with a mark of 59.41.
The 400 medley relay of Slagel, Erin Connolly, Scharmer and Laura Boran set a school record of 3:56.43. The foursome placed fourth and were .04 seconds from finishing third.
The old mark in this event was 3:58.0 set by Erin Mykleby, Stephanie Drewes, Amelia Ladd and Connolly Feb. 16, 2012.
Luther will travel to University of St. Thomas for a two-day invitational that will take place Dec. 7-8.
