Luther fell to one of top teams in the Iowa Conference, Simpson College, by a score of 86-62 this afternoon in the Regents Center.
The Norse trailed 40-34 at halftime, but an 18-4 run at the start of the second half by the Storm, extended their lead to 20 and were never challenged the rest of the way. The Storm also shot 51 percent in the second frame, while holding the Norse to just five field goals.
Taylor Johnson and Rachel Stenhaug led the Norse attack with 16 and 13 points respectively. Emily Schroeder provided a career high eight points off the bench, while Kattie Etter and Meagan Koepnick chipped in seven each.
Eleven different players scored for the Storm led by Stacey Schutjer who tallied a game high 17. Kate Nielsen had 15 and Nicole Crisp tallied 10 off the bench.
The loss drops Luther's Iowa Conference mark to 2-11, 5-17 overall. Simpson stays in the hunt for the league title and is now 9-3, 16-5.
Luther has a week off and will host Central College Saturday, Feb. 11 at 2:00 p.m. This is the final home game of the season and will be video streamed.
