Luther dropped a hard fought 75-61 decision to University of Dubuque here in the Regents Center. Despite trailing the Spartans by as many as 12 points in the second half, but the Norse continued to battle and pulled to within six points (66-60) with two minutes remaining. The six-point deficit proved to be as close as the Norse would get the remainder of the game.
Taylor Johnson tallied her fifth double-double of the year, scoring 19 points and collecting a game high 11 rebounds. Nellie Nelson added 11 points off the bench and Logan Hjerleid chipped in 10.
Dubuque's Mollie Whiting led all scores with 21 points. Aimee Reyzer also reached double digits with 14, that included a 10-for-12 performance from the charity stripe.
The loss drops Luther's Iowa Conference record to 1-6, 4-12 overall. Dubuque posted its third win in a row and is now 3-4 in league play, 8-8 overall.
The Norse will travel to Central College on Wedneday, Jan. 18, for a game that will begin at 6:00 p.m. This contest will be audio streamed.
