Luther wrapped up its last road trip of the regular season defeating the University of Dubuque 95-74 tonight in the Stoltz Sports Center.
Five Norse tallied double digits led by Claire Marburger who poured in a game high 28. Marburger was 10-of-15 from the field and 7-of-9 from the charity stripe. Katie Waller, who wore No. 15 tonight, was next with 18. Sarah Holtz posted a career high 17, while Laura Hamilton was credited with 15 and Madison Spence tallied 12. The Norse shot 48 percent that included a 9-of-21 effort from behind the three-point line. Luther was also deadly from the free throw line connecting on 26-of-29 attempts.
Dubuque was led by the duo of Abbey Meyer with 21 and Allison Roach with 17.
Luther's victory combined with Coe losing to Wartburg tonight in Waverly 54-53, secured the No. 2 seed for the Norse for the Iowa Conference Tournament that will begin next week. The top-two seeds of the tournament earn first round byes and host semifinal games on Thursday, Feb. 22 at 7:00 p.m.
The Norse are now alone in second place in the league standings with a mark of 11-4, 17-9 overall.
Luther will host Buena Vista University this Saturday, Feb. 17. This final regular season game will begin at 2:00 p.m.
