Carleton College hosted the 2017 NCAA III Central Regional on a chilly afternoon in Northfield, Minn. Host Carleton won the team title posting 48 points. Nebraska Wesleyan finished second with 103 points and was followed by Wartburg College with 106. Luther finished 11th from the field of 32 teams with 269 points.
Individually, McKenzie Carney and Anna Ryden earned all-region honors by finishing in the top-35 from the field of 215 competitors. Carney became a three-time all-region performer placing 17th this afternoon covering the 6K course in 22:30. Carney also earned all-region honors in 2015 (27th) and 2016 (25th). Ryden earned all-region honors for the second time in as many years. Last year, she placed 34th and this afternoon she crossed the finish line in 22nd place with a time of 22:40.
Completing the Norse seven included Hannah Wright (67th - 23:50), Kat Hoffman (78th - 24:06), Vera Lindhorst (85th - 24:12), Amelia Hornseth (96th - 24:25) and Meredith Robinson (105th - 24:40).
