Luther won its third match in a row defeating UW-La Crosse here in the Regents Center 3-1.
After dropping the first set 25-23, the Norse leveled the match scoring six straight points down the stretch to secure a come-from-behind 25-23 victory in set two. In the third set, both teams had numerous opportunities to secure the victory, but Luther prevailed with a 32-30 decision. The Norse secured the overall victory with a 25-16 win in set four.
The trio of McKinzy Lohberger, Leah Broderick and Natalee Johnson paced the Norse attack. Lohberger was credited with 14 kills, while Broderick and Johnson tallied 13 and 12 respectively. Lindsey Ryan dished out 43 assists. Taylor Gaide led the defensive efforts with 15 digs, while both Brandi Knupp and Ryan each had 10. The Norse also tallied 15 total blocks, led by Broderick with four and Ryan with three.
The win gives Luther an overall record of 9-5. The Norse will return to Iowa Conference play Tuesday, Sept. 23 when they will travel to Simpson College. This match is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
