The SPIN Theatre Company, with special thanks to the Luther College Theatre Department, announces Lysistrata, directed by Maggie Sulentic, to be performed Friday, April 25 at 7:00pm and Saturday, April 26 at 7:00pm.
Lysistrata, or "The Sex Strike" by Aristophanes is one of the funniest and best known Greek comedies. It is a story of political activism and feminism, but mostly sex. It tells the story of the people of the war-torn city of Athens, and the women who decide to stop the war in the most efficient way possible: by going on a sex boycott until peace is reached. Irreverent, sexy and hysterically funny, Lysistrata will tickle your funny bone and probably a few other places as well.
Lysistrata contains strong sexual content, terribly lowbrow humor, and strong language that is not suitable for people under the age of 16.
