Luther moved into a three-way tie for fourth place in the Iowa Conference standings following a 79-61 victory over Simpson this afternoon.
The Norse defense held the Storm to 36.5 percent and controlled the boards 42-31. The Norse held a 36-28 advantage at halftime and outscored the Storm 43-33 in the second frame.
John Androus led a foursome of double-digit scorers for Head Coach Mark Franzen. Androus scored a game high 19 points. He was followed by Aaron Huber with 15, and both Nathan Meyer and Jake Martin who tallied 11.
The Storm were led by Charles Swain with 16 and Leif Olson with 13.
The win was the fourth in a row for the Norse who are now 4-4 in the IIAC, 12-7 overall. Simpson fell to 1-7 in league play, 3-16 overall.
Luther travels to Loras College (4-4, 11-8) on Wednesday, Feb. 5. Tip-off will take place at 8:00 p.m.
