Head coach Chris Garcia-Prats played 36 different players tonight as Luther rolled to a 5-1 victory over Waldorf College. The win was the second in a row for the Norse who are now 6-3-0.
Waldorf's Kwaku Amoah scored the first goal of the night at 16:48. Luther responded with five unanswered that included two in the first half and three in the second. Kyle McNeese (1) scored his first collegiate goal assisted by Dane Huinker (1) and James Garcia-Prats (6) to level the score at 1-1 at 37:52. Garcia-Prats (1) gave Luther a 2-1 lead at halftime assisted by Austin Walther (1) at 40:33.
In the second frame, Brock Arend (4) extended Luther's lead at 56:03 assisted by Garcia-Prats (7). Guilherme Borini and Garrett Hillestad completed the scoring finding the back of the net at 74:06 and 84:05 respectively. Both goals were their first for both players in a Norse uniform. Jon Gednalske (2) and Matheus Beato (1) assisted on Borini's goal, while Nathanael Maynard (1) assisted on Hillestad's goal.
Luther will begin Iowa Conference play this Saturday, Sept. 28, when it will host Buena Vista University at 5:00 p.m.
