Luther placed fourth at the Carleton College Meet of Hearts Invitational this afternoon in Northfield, Minn. Hamline University won the team title (186), followed by Gustavus Adolphus (141), Carleton (119) and Luther (102).
Joel Clark captured the lone individual title for the Norse. Clark won the 55 meter hurdles clocked at 7.91. Clark already has the third fastest time in school history in this event of 7.88.
Second place finishes were posted by Nick Clark in the 55 meter dash (6.65), Logan Langley in the 1,000 (2:36.51), Alex Rigdon in the 3,000 (8:50.21), Josh Olson in the triple jump (41-11 1/4) and the 4 x 200 relay of Nick Clark, Joel Clark, Devin Gilbertson and Cole Hocker (1:33.84). Rigdon's time in the 3,000 ranks ninth, while the 4 x 200 time ranks eighth on Luther's all-time list.
Top-10 performances were also recorded by Andy Ambrose in the 55 meter hurdles (8.21) and Nick Arnold in the 35lb weight throw (43-1 1/2). Ambrose's time ranks ninth and Arnold's ranks seventh.
Luther returns to action Friday, Feb. 15 when it will travel to University of Northern Iowa for the Dome Opener. Competition will begin at 1:00 p.m.
