Luther traveled to the St. Mary's University Open this afternoon, a non-scored invitational.
Jayne Cole and Christina Storlie headlined the Norse efforts with firsts place finishes in the 1500 and 3000 Steeplechase respectively. Cole crossed the finish line in 4:49.55. Storlie, a two-time national qualifier in the steeplechase, posted a time of 11:29.21, winning the event by nearly 15 seconds. Sophie Ristau placed third in this same event clocked at 12:30.10.
Hannah Theisen also posted a top-three finish. Theisen placed second in the 400 meters with a time of 60.75. She was edged by Molly Brion of UW-Stout who was clocked at 60.69.
Luther top-10 all-time performances were posted by Anna Hennessy in the 200 meters and Addy Rickels in the long jump. Hennessy placed sixth in the 200 meters with a time of 26.46 that ranks tenth all-time. Rickels finished fourth in the long jump with a mark of 17-4 3/4 that ranks seventh all-time.
The Norse have one more meet before the Iowa Conference Championships. Luther will travel to Wartburg for a dual on May 2 that is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m.
