May, 2014, the Continuous Improvement Commission of the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) reaffirmed the [national] NCATE accreditation of the Education Department at Luther College at the initial teacher preparation level.
This accreditation decision indicates that the unit and its programs meet rigorous standards set forth by the professional education community. March 6, 2014, the Iowa State Board of Education granted the approval of the teacher preparation program offered by Luther College.
This action follows an on-site review and evaluation of how the program meets Iowa’s Standards for Practitioner Preparation. The approval continues until the next full accreditation visit during the 2019-2020 academic year.
