The International Student Friendship Family/Host Program is a program which attempts to link new international students with individuals or families in the Luther College and the Decorah community. Students and families will develop an appreciation of how others live and view the world.  The goal of the program is to promote international understanding and friendship, develop an appreciation of how others live and view the world, and assist new students in the process of adjustment to Luther College and the United States. It gives students the opportunity to get together with their family or host once a month in an informal setting therefore having the opportunity to learn about North American culture and the friends/hosts have the opportunity to learn about the home culture of our students. The friendship that grows between a student and their Friendship Family/Host promotes diversity and cultural awareness that will last a lifetime.
