The Counseling Service will resume seeing clients at the start of the fall semester. We do not provide counseling during the summer and the office is closed altogether from mid-June to mid-August.
If you will be in Decorah this summer and would like to arrange counseling, please see Off-Campus Services for a listing of mental health resources in Decorah. Before you select a counselor, it is important to call your health insurance company to learn which providers in Decorah will be covered by your insurance.
If your need to see a counselor is urgent, Northeast Iowa Behavioral Health Center has the ability to see clients on a same-day, emergency basis. For a mental health crisis during night/weekend hours, go directly to the Winneshiek Medical Center emergency room, 901 Montgomery St., Decorah, 382-2911.
If you will be a new Luther student in the fall (or are the parent of a new student) and you have questions during the summer about the Counseling Service or counseling resources in Decorah, please contact the Student Life Office at 563-387-1020.
