Research with Faculty

Our faculty are conducting cutting edge research with students in the field of Classics and Classical Archaeology.

Dan Davis

Assistant Professor of Classics

Dan Davis teaches a wide range of courses in Classics, and he’s also a specialist in both terrestrial and marine archaeology. In addition to partnering with students on research and work-study projects at Luther he leads January-term trips to Greece and Italy and conducts archaeological research in Greece and Turkey with students each summer.

    Philip Freeman

    Professor in Classics

Philip Freeman is a specialist in both Classics and Celtic Studies. When he’s not writing books (see his page here) or teaching our courses, he’s traveling to England, Ireland, Italy, Greece, Turkey or Egypt to offer study tours. Our students love working with him on research projects.
