Spring 2013
Dear Fellow Norse,
Happy spring to the Class of 2005! We hope this letter finds you well; 2013 is proving to be a year of change at Luther.
With May fast approaching, another class will graduate and transition from students to alumni, and President Richard Torgerson’s fourteen-year tenure will come to an end. He leaves behind an impressive legacy, which includes Luther being recognized as one of the top 100 liberal arts colleges in the nation. President Torgerson oversaw the addition of three state-of-the-art facilities—Sampson Hoffland Laboratories, the Center for the Arts, and the Legends Fitness Center—as well as other renovations. His commitment to future generations has been evident with the results of three major campaign efforts to raise funds for scholarships, facilities, and other educational needs, for a combined total of more than $200 million. We extend our many thanks and gratitude for the wonderful work both President Torgerson and his wife, Judy, have done over the years. We wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors!
Another new face on Luther’s campus is Aaron Hafner, the new head football coach. Coach Hafner spent the past seven years at William Penn University, as offensive coordinator and offensive line coach. We look forward to seeing his leadership and mentoring skills both on and off the field.
We are very fortunate to have had an educational experience like the one we received at Luther College. Please consider giving back, as there are many ways you can help out. Visit www.luther.edu to explore your options and learn about what’s new at the college. Remember to update our classmates on the events of your lives by submitting information to alumni@luther.edu.
Sincerely,
Kate Ingber
