Spring 2013
Dear Classmates,
Spring is a time of rebirth, renewal, and re-growth, a time where the birds return and begin building their nests, the grass begins to turn a lush green, and the chill in the air disappears.
What are your favorite signs of spring? The sudden urge to put on the sneakers to get some fresh air? Seeing your neighbors again after months of hibernation? The itch to clean the house from top to bottom?
Luther is undergoing some large transformations as well. Among many of Luther’s significant changes are new leadership; a Center for Nordic Studies named in honor of the Torgersons; and a new aquatic center, which will accommodate 250 spectators, feature eight lanes, and include a 14-foot-depth diving area!
It feels like just a short time ago, we were leaving the comfort of our Luther home to enter into what many call the “real world.” We did a lot of growing at Luther. These experiences helped develop and prepare us for our next adventure. Let’s take a moment to say thank you for all Luther College has provided. Please join us in giving back by contributing to the Annual Fund!

Class Notes
SARA (GOUDSCHAAL) BLESSING is a graduate assistant in music at the University of Iowa in Iowa City.
JANELLE (FEINE) and CHARLIE DAHL live in Jamestown, N.D. Janelle is an obstetrics nurse at Jamestown Regional Medical Center. Charlie is a biological technician at Northern Prairie Wildlife Reserve.
BENJAMIN DRUFFEL earned a master’s degree in music from Minnesota State University-Mankato. He is a graduate student assistant at Rutgers University.
RYAN GOESSL is a member of the Camarata Music Company in Seoul, South Korea. The group recently performed the musical Seussical and Mendelssohn’s Elijah.
JAMES GREGG earned a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management.
MATT HUCK works for Menards in Muscatine, Iowa.
KIRSTEN (SPARKS) and BRAD PAULSRUD ‘05 live in Hutchinson, Kan. Kirsten is a podiatrist at Hutchinson Clinic.
BECKY (KNOTT) PORTER of Eldridge, Iowa, is the business development associate for Spectranetics.
ALICE SANDAHL and ANDY MEYER live in Seattle. Alice teaches French at Perkins School. Andy teaches tenth- and twelfth-grade humanities at the Northwest School.
ANDREW TERRY completed an emergency medicine residency in Columbus, Ohio. He is an emergency medicine physician for Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
