Spring 2013

Hello Class of 2003!

It is hard to believe that it has already been ten years since we were spending this time of year finishing senior papers, interviewing for jobs or trying to get in to grad schools, and getting ready to head off into the real world, isn’t it?  It seems like it could have been last week!  Hopefully these last ten years have been great for everyone, and you are all making plans to make it to our 10-year reunion over Homecoming Weekend 2013 (Oct 4-6), so we can all catch up on where the real world has taken us. For those of you on Facebook, we do have a Luther Class of 2003 page that will have more updates about the reunion and goings on around Decorah, as we get closer to the big weekend!  Make your lodging reservations!

The last ten years have not only brought change in our lives, but also to life around Luther.  For those of you who haven’t been back for a while, you may not recognize the place.  The new buildings, faculty, and sustainability efforts all speak greatly to the commitment President Torgerson has shown, making us all proud alumni of an amazing place.  The selection committee is hard at work to find our new president, but it will be hard for them to replace “our” president—the one who started Luther the same time we did.

As you think about what your time at Luther has done to help you out in the real world since 2003, we hope that you will also consider giving back, so more people can enjoy the same types of memories.  Feel free to use the enclosed envelope, or give online at givenow.luther.edu.  Thank you!

October will be here before you know it, so start making plans to head back to beautiful Northeast Iowa to catch up with old friends.  We can’t wait to see everyone!

Don't forget your Annual Fund giving!

Each year nearly 9,000 alumni, parents, and friends support the Annual Fund with gifts from $5 to $50,000. Strong support from alumni helps Luther secure additional funds from foundations and corporations, and your gift each year helps us reach our goal of 27% alumni giving.  Here’s how your class—and surrounding classes—did in 2012:

Class of 2002 total giving in 2012:  $22,430 from 18% of the class

Class of 2003 total giving in 2012:  $21,796 from 22% of the class

Class of 2004 total giving in 2012:  $10,454 from 21% of the class

Your gift can boost the impact your class has on current students!  Please use the enclosed envelope or visit www.givenow.luther.edu to show your support. Thank you!

WITH SINCERE GRATITUDE:
This list includes all gifts received January 1, 2012, to December 31, 2012. Making a gift each and every year is an investment in the lives of Luther students and a show of support for the Luther College community.  Thank you for your support of Luther College through your giving.
