Spring 2013
Dear Classmates –
“I’m gonna pop some tags. Only got twenty dollars in my pocket.” I can’t ride in my car without hearing this Thrift Shop song at least once during every trip. The artists, Mackelmore & Ryan Lewis, were planning to perform at Luther in April. We had our fun rocking events too. When I hear “Red Red Wine” by UB40, my mind immediately transports right back to campus and reminds me of friends, dancing, and my grey Hammer pants. Do you remember the UB40 concert while we were in college?
There are lots of continuing traditions at Luther that we will remember from our time. With four major building renovations in the last decade, there are also lots of new things happening on campus. I hope you’ll be able to come for our 25th reunion and check out the old and the new.
Our big Homecoming event will be October 4-6, 2013. More information will be coming your way in July, but let’s make plans now so we can reconnect. If there are any changes to your contact information, you can go online to update your information. Hopefully, we can reminisce and make new memories, musical and otherwise.
Many thanks for your support of Luther, and see you in October.

Don't forget your Annual Fund giving!
Each year nearly 9,000 alumni, parents, and friends support the Annual Fund with gifts from $5 to $50,000. Strong support from alumni helps Luther secure additional funds from foundations and corporations, and your gift each year helps us reach our goal of 27% alumni giving. Here’s how your class—and surrounding classes—did in 2012:
Class of 1987 total giving in 2012: $47,150 from 21% of the class
Class of 1988 total giving in 2012: $66,079 from 24% of the class
Class of 1989 total giving in 2012: $34,502 from 23% of the class
Your gift can boost the impact your class has on current students! Please use the enclosed envelope or visit www.givenow.luther.edu to show your support. Thank you!
WITH SINCERE GRATITUDE:
This list includes all gifts received January 1, 2012, to December 31, 2012. Making a gift each and every year is an investment in the lives of Luther students and a show of support for the Luther College community. Thank you for your support of Luther College through your giving.
