Spring 2013

Dear Class of 2002,

Greetings from Sarah and me! We hope this letter finds you doing well as we transition into spring; a season of growth, renewal, and new life being born. As the days begin to lengthen, the season progresses, which brings out change across campus.  If you weren’t able to join us for Homecoming last fall, I would encourage you to venture back to campus as your schedule allows.  You will notice new buildings, new businesses in town, and many other changes throughout campus.  One of the greatest changes is the announcement of leadership change.  On behalf of the Class of 2002, we would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to President Torgeson and his wife Judy for their years of service and commitment to Luther. Through their leadership, Luther College is positioned for continued growth and advancement.

As such, we have an opportunity to play a role in the growth and advancement that takes place at Luther.  Annual giving and increased alumni participation are critical if Luther College is to remain the best teaching and learning environment in the Midwest. All gifts, large or small, make a difference and have an important impact on our Alma Matter.

We hope 2013 is a year that surrounds you with family, friends, community, and positive change!  Thank you to those of you who have given to Luther this year. If you haven’t done so already, please consider joining me in making a gift.  In addition, please enjoy reading about our classmates’ many life events and accomplishments.  We have much to celebrate and be proud of!

All the best,

Don't forget your Annual Fund giving!

Each year nearly 9,000 alumni, parents, and friends support the Annual Fund with gifts from $5 to $50,000. Strong support from alumni helps Luther secure additional funds from foundations and corporations, and your gift each year helps us reach our goal of 27% alumni giving.  Here’s how your class—and surrounding classes—did in 2012:

Class of 2001 total giving in 2012:  $23,821 from 20% of the class

Class of 2002 total giving in 2012:  $22,430 from 18% of the class

Class of 2003 total giving in 2012:  $21,796 from 22% of the class

Your gift can boost the impact your class has on current students! Please use the enclosed envelope or visit to show your support. Thank you!

This list includes all gifts received January 1, 2012, to December 31, 2012. Making a gift each and every year is an investment in the lives of Luther students and a show of support for the Luther College community.  Thank you for your support of Luther College through your giving.
