Dear Class of 1987 Classmates,
I hope this finds you well, having enjoyed a wonderful fall season.
I recently attended a national conference for chief academic officers in higher education. To my delight, I learned that the opening keynote speaker was Dr. George Kuh, an internationally recognized scholar of student success in college. More importantly, he is a graduate of…wait for it…Luther College (Class of 1968)! In fact, in his presentation he made numerous references to Luther as being the type of institution that provides myriad opportunities for student engagement, which his research has shown leads to deep learning and transformative experiences for students.
