I know you recently received a spring class letter from me, but I am writing now to remind you that THIS FALL we will celebrate our 30-year reunion at Luther College. Hard to believe, I know! Thirty years is a long time, and at the same time, I can’t help but wonder how those years passed so quickly.
I would like to invite you to attend our class of 1982 reunion dinner on Saturday, October 6, 2012, at the Oaks Steakhouse (1109 Highway 9 West—the old Cliff House) in Decorah. A reception will begin at 6:00 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:00 p.m. The cost per person is $20.00 and should be paid in advance when you make your reservation. Reservations can be made online at www.luther.edu/homecoming, or payment can be sent with the reservation form included with this letter. Let me know if you have any questions or any ideas about what we might do at our event on October 6th, I am looking for a volunteer to give a prayer before dinner is served. Contact me if you are interested.
You are also invited to attend the Luther Alumni Dinner on Friday, October 5th. The reception starts at 5:30 p.m. and the dinner at 6:00 p.m. in the dining hall of Dahl Centennial Union. The cost is $20 per person and you can sign up for it the same way you make reservations for our class get-together. After the dinner, at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Luther’s Jazz Orchestra will perform and the college will present the Distinguished Service Awards to several individuals, including two of our classmates: David “Chip” Norris and Harlan Satrom. Congratulations to both!
The whole weekend is packed with sports, concerts, and lots of opportunities to walk around campus and recall your experience there, thirty years ago. You can see the entire schedule of weekend events at www.luther.edu/homecoming/schedule. A listing of area accommodations can be found at www.luther.edu/decorah/lodging.
If you have lost touch with some of our classmates and want to find them and see if they are coming to Homecoming, please use the Luther Online Alumni Directory at www.luther.edu/alumni/directory. If you do not have a username and password, an account can be created quickly and easily by contacting the Luther Technology Help Desk at 563-387-1000.
I hope to see you all in October!
